Desert Nights Retreat At The Cactus Moon

Desert Nights Retreat At The Cactus Moon

Dates:  April 20, 2023 – April 23, 2023

Join Pam Rose and Lauren Lovett for spring nights in the high desert in CA where we’ll tell stories about life and love by the light of the desert stars…

A TIME FOR RENEWAL RECONNECTION AND RECREATION

In these extraordinary and challenging times, we may not even be aware of how these last years have affected or changed us.

Being in nature has been a sacred source of healing and restoration for millenia. The dry calm of the desert can help to re-establish our relationship to our groundedness, our center, and even our purpose.

In this setting, we honor the opportunity to share what we know about the transformative power of nature through Music, Story Telling, Star Gazing, and our relationship to the Cosmos with the help of Astronomy and Basic Archetypal Astrology.

Tools like the art of how to ground ourselves with calming yoga and body work, and how to center ourselves with light meditation to take away and use in our daily lives.

Practical experiences.

The information wisdom that your body holds is going to impact you, no matter what your profession is.

A mind-body experience, but what does that mean?

Come experience this for a long weekend in the high desert.

Lead a richer, more vibrant life.

You deserve more.

There is this tendency in our western culture to language from a place of LACK or scarcity, rather than speaking from a place of empowerment, as if it’s too masculine or too showy or too much.

“This was an incredibly eye-opening and transformative experience. I learned so much about myself and my peers. Being silent for the first 24 hours was important to allow ourselves to unplug from the pressures and noise of the outside world.”

“The workshops encouraged me to engage my imagination, turn inward, and let go and be.”

“I learned a lot of tools to calm my nervous system that I have taken away with me and continued in my everyday life. It was important to me that this retreat focused on the artist in all of us. I learned to slow down, and that that is okay. The enjoyment of existing actually encourages creativity. I felt like I rediscovered my love of my art there.”

“Beautiful location, delicious food, wonderful company, challenging and exciting programming and an exceptional opportunity.”

“This retreat brought up so many powerful realizations for me. It has given me so many things to continue to excavate and work on. It helped me realize how I am speaking in relation to both myself and other people and applying what I learned at this retreat is really helping me embody who I want to be. I really liked that different healers were incorporated so you got to experience lots of different styles and approaches.”

“My experience at the retreat was really gentle and expansive. So much space was held for processing individually and together. The first 24 hours in silence really set a president for internal discovery and reflection. All the programming was extremely supportive and helpful. Thank you so much!”

PAM ROSE

Born in Chattanooga, Pam Rose moved with her family to Atlanta, then to the East Coast of Florida, near Cape Canaveral, on the Indian River, where she spent her formative years. After majoring in Music at Florida State University, she lived in Atlanta and was mentored by long time friend and colleague of Ramsey Lewis, Jazz musician Paul Mitchell.

Few voices have the power to cut to the bone like Pam Rose’s. Layer that over her profound songwriting gift and her consummate musicianship on an assortment of instruments, and you begin to get a glimpse of a real artist. With longtime writing partner Mary Ann Kennedy, Rose has been nominated for two Grammy Awards, and has won praise for her powerful alliance with Mary Ann as the acclaimed duo, Kennedy Rose.

As a solo artist, she has recorded CDs “Morpheus”, “Fly”, “e Temple Sessions” and
most recently “Sacred Song”. Since 2006, she has enjoyed a vibrant life of touring, rejoining Mary Ann Kennedy and touring as an acoustic trio with Emmylou Harris in North America and Europe, and traveling the world as a solo artist with Australian guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel.

This is but a small glimpse into the expansive, global and multi-faceted career and collaborative efforts of Pam Rose. www.pamrosemusic.com

MENTOR TEACHERS

Jenny Walters

Deciding to pursue a career in the healing arts is a result of exploring my own healing. I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, with an emphasis in depth psychology, and went on to complete depth psychological training in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches. This depth approach allowed me to study the psyche by way of the imaginal, myth and symbol. This felt right in line with all the best parts of art making.

I also hold a Master of Fine Arts degree. Now I specialize in working with other sensitive and creative folks as well as the adult children of narcissists and borderline parents and those recovering from narcissistic abuse.

When I work with my clients, I help them make their internal experience external so they can access their own insights, voice and power. That’s what I’m here to help you do; to use your full sensate experience and sensitivity to connect to your inner knowing and voice.
